A + B + C = 1/30
A = 5/6 B
A/B = 5/6
C = 75/100 * B
C/B = 3/4
Efficiency of A, B and C = 10:12:9
Total work = 30 * 31
Required time = (84/100 * 31 * 30)/21
= 37.2 days
2) Answer: A
Total work = 20 * 26 = 520
Total work done by 40 boys in 7 days = 40 * 7 = 280
x = (520 – 280)/32 = 7.5 days
3) Answer: E
1/(x + 8) + 1/(x – 2) = 1/(x – 10)
((x – 2) + (x + 8)) * (x – 10) = (x – 2) * (x + 8)
2x2 + 6x – 20x – 60 = x2 + 8x – 2x – 16
x2 – 20x – 44 = 0
x2 – 22x + 2x – 44 = 0
x(x – 22) + 2(x – 22) = 0
x = 22(Neglecting negative number of days)
