Answers :
1) Answer: B
(x + 2000)/(2x + 8000) = 5500/16500
2x + 8000 = 3x + 6000
x = 2000
2) Answer: A
Profit ratio of A and B = (5000 * 5 + 6000 * 7):(9000 * 5 + 8000 * 7)
= 67000:101000
=67:101
Required Difference = (101 – 67)/168 * 8400
= Rs.1700

Profit ratio of A, B and C = (3 * 1): (8 * 2): (1 * 3)

Total profit share = 22/3 * 1800 = Rs.13200
4) Answer: C
Profit ratio of A, B and C = (4500 * 12): (5000 * 8): (4800 * 8)
= 135: 100: 96
C’s profit share = (96/331) * 16550
= Rs.4800
5) Answer: D
Profit ratio of A, B and C
= (1000 * 4 + 1200 * 8): (1500 * 4 + 1100 * 8): (1200 * 8 + 1100 * 4)
= 13600: 14800: 14000
= 34: 37: 35
C’s profit share = 35/106 * 5300 = Rs.1750
