5) Which of the following combination of fruit and weight is not true?
A.Mango – 46
B.Grapes – 21
C.Litchi – 26
D.Avocado – 39
E.Orange – 32
Explanation :
We have:
- Cherry has kept three places above the box whose weight is 39kg, but not kept at top.
- Guava is kept just below the box whose weight is 39kg.
- The number of boxes kept above Orange is one more than the number of boxes kept below Guava.
That means, in case (1) Guava is kept at bottom, in case (2) Guava is kept third from bottom.
- Box kept adjacent to orange is kept three places away from Papaya.
- The weight of Orange is 3/4th of the weight of Papaya.
Since, only such possible combination is (32, 24).
That means, in case (1) Papaya has kept two places above Guava, in case (2) Papaya has kept at the bottom.
Based on the above given information we have
Again, we have:
- The number of boxes kept between Cherry and the one whose weight is 32kg is the same as the number of boxes kept between Mango and the one whose weight is 26kg.
- Mango has kept two places below the one whose weight is 21kg.
That means, in case (1) the box whose weight is 21kg is kept at the top, case (2) is not valid.
Based on the above given information we have:
Case (2) is not valid as the number of boxes between Cherry and the one whose weight is 32kg is the same as the number of boxes between Mango and the one whose weight is 26kg.
Again, we have:
- The sum of the weights of Mango and Papaya is twice the weight of Avocado.
Thus, only such possible combinations are (46, 32, 39).
That means, the weight of Mango must be 46kg and the weight of Avocado is 39kg.
- Litchi is not kept at the top but kept at any place above the box whose weight is 13kg.
That means, the weight of Litchi is 26kg, and the weight of Guava is 13kg.
Based on the above given information we have the final arrangement as follows:
1) Answer: A
The weight of the Cherry box is 19kg.
Hence, option A is the correct choice.
2) Answer: C
One box is kept below Avocado.
Hence, option C is the correct choice.
3) Answer: A
The weight of Guava is 13kg.
Hence, option A is the correct choice.
4) Answer: D
Only statement D is true.
Hence, option D is the correct choice.
5) Answer: E
The weight of Orange is not 32kg.
Hence, option E is the correct choice.
